Pendock MX Plywood Casing Systems

170 PREFORMED PLYWOOD CASINGS:

MX casings are primarily designed for covering and protecting larger diameter pipework, including heating services, soil and vent pipework, rainwater pipes, heat recovery ducting, etc.

  • All profiles are 90° angles, with radiused corners. (internal radius 21.5 mm)
  • Material thickness: 5mm or 8mm.
  • Standard lengths: 2500mm and 3000mm.

Finish/colour:

  • MX Type A: Melamine.
  • MX Type B: Melamine, laminate or veneer.
  • MX Type C and D: Melamine, laminate, veneer. Not all finishes are available for all joint types.
  • MX Standard range types A and B are available with complementary accessories for use in horizontal applications at floor and ceiling level. Intermediate sizes are available to suit individual applications.
  • MX range type C and D cater for larger casings, to enclose exposed pipework offset from the internal structure, or where greater concentrations of services occur. They are available to individual size requirements, based on a standard type B casing with an additional flat panel extension to horizontal  leg and/or vertical leg. A range of factory assembled joints are available (J1, J2, J3, J4 and J5) Extended casings are generally despatched factory fixed as complete units. If casings are too large for transportation as a single unit then they will be supplied as components fitted with male and female joints for site assembly.

MX range of casings - Type A.

  • Standard Sizes from 75 x 150 up to 200 x 200 mm.
  • Material thickness: 5 mm. (Each leg can be cut to 65 mm minimum)

MX range of casings - Type B.

  • Standard Sizes from 150 x 150 up to 300 x 300mm.
  • Material thickness: 8mm. (Each leg can be cut to 65 mm minimum)

MX range of casings - Type C (made to order):

  • Vertical leg: 65 to 300mm.
  • Horizontal leg: Over 300mm.
  • Material thickness: 8mm. Lengths: 2500 and 3000mm.
  • Joint types available: J1, J2, J3 , J4 and J5.

MX range of casings - Type D (made to order):

  • Vertical leg: Over 300mm.
  • Horizontal leg: Over 300mm.
  • Material thickness: 8mm.
  • Lengths: 2500 and 3000mm.
  • Joint types available: J1, J2, J3 , J4 and J5.

Accessories:

  • Internal and external corners. 
  • Butt joints (Type A & B only).

  • Shadow gap joints.
  • Factory fitted edge shadow gaps (black finish for use with black screws), to provide discreet fixing location and material for scribing.
  • Inner collars are available for vertical sections, for use at the head and at skirting level, or as a shadow gap joints between sections, which can be supplied in complementary finishes to enhance the design. Inner collars are produced to suit the internal dimensions of the main casing and have a standard height of 200mm, to show up to 150mm.
  • Profiles can be supplied with integral ventilation grilles, or grille patterns can be cut into the material on both legs of the casings, to allow the heat from pipework to flow freely into the occupancy. Grille patterns are uniformly spaced to provide a tolerance gap for cross cutting on site. The minimum leg length for casings with grille patterns is 125mm.
  • Profiles are available in a wide range of finishes to meet virtually all service conditions for building interiors. The profiles are fixed to softwood battens, available as part of the system. When determining the size of the profile it is important to take into account the size and positioning of the battens.
  • Long runs of sections are joined together using butt joints incorporating 'push fit' buty joint covers, or utilising a shadow gap joint.

 Fixing:

Face fixed to softwood battens using manufacturer's fixings. Fixing type: Black screws / Brass screws / Zinc screws with decorative caps.

Colour: Consult Pendock for availability of colours and samples.

Position of fixings: 50 mm from each end and equally spaced along the profile at approx. 600 mm centres. Provide extra fixings where necessary to uneven walls.

Edge shadow gap fixing type: Black screws.
