Plywood Column Casing - Performance

Performance

Fire Spread

When tested in accordance with BS 476 Part 7 Pendock Profiles achieve a Class 2 spread of flame. When applying fire retardant laminates and applying an appropriate glue bond Pendock casings and enclosures achieve Class 1 spread of flame (Class IY on radiused components).

Resistance

A proprietary Intumescent system, such as a spray applied coating or a board type cladding should be used in conjunction with Pendock enclosure systems to achieve the necessary rating in respect of fire resistance.

Mechanical Fixings

All casing and enclosures are designed to be installed using countersinking screws which are available from Pendock in a Black, Zinc or Brass finish.

Mechanical fixings may be obscured by the design of the installed systems or discreetly positioned within shadow gaps and feature joints disguising their visibility.

Where fixings are present on the product surface a wide range of decorative caps are available to compliment the nominated colour or finish of the enclosure.

Fire Propagation

Many components can also be produced to Class 'O' spread of flame/fire propagation as detailed in Part 6 of the British Standard.
