Finishes
Pendock preformed plywood columns are available in a choice of real wood veneer and high pressure laminate. Ledorex (plain) is also available for site decoration.
Real wood veneers
These veneers are carefully selected into batches to provide consistency in colour and grain structure. Whilst we aim to achieve continuity in colour/grain some variation will occur due to the nature of the product.
Standard Ranges
Almost any commercially available veneer can be sourced and used. Examples of popular species are Oak, Maple, Elm, Ash, Beech, Mahogany, Walnut, Pine, Cherry, Teak and Aniegre.
For other veneers please contact Pendock's technical department who will be able to advise on availability and source samples if required.
Performance and Finishing
Pendock can pre-finish veneered products in a hardwearing lacquer, which is factory applied. This will enhance the natural beauty of the veneer and increase the durability of the product. Alternatively the product can be supplied in a natural finish for site varnishing or polishing, to blend in with existing or matching decor.
Product Sequencing
Where grain structure is critical i.e. horizontal runs, Pendock can provide a sequential selection and numbering service. Veneers can be individually selected and cut so that the grain continuity can be maintained on each individual product. Once produced they are numbered for ease of identification at site level (please state at time of order).
Commitment to Natural Products
Pendock use veneers supplied form sustainable and managed sources. In the manufacturing process no attempt is made to dye or reconstruct any part of the veneer, allowing the products to retain it's natural beauty and unique characteristics.
Composition
High pressure laminates are one of the most hardwearing and adaptable finishes available. They are produced from layers of specially prepared papers. Once impregnated with thermosetting synthetic resins, they are fused together under heat and very high pressure.
Range Pendock predominately recommend the use of Formica high pressure laminates which conform to EN 438 and ISO 4586. Many other brands can be factory applied and specifies simply need to identify the manufacturer and finish reference required for surface finish. Laminates selected must be postforming grade and Pendock's technical staff will be pleased to advise on any range constraints.
Performance
These finishes are ideally suited to service conditions demanding high levels of durability and hygiene. Their resistance to impact and abrasion enables use in areas of high traffic and public access. They can be considered virtually maintenance free and will cope with continual cleaning processes in environments where hygiene is essential.
High Pressure Laminates
High pressure laminates can be factory applied to provide the specifier with possibly the widest selection of finishes available today. Laminates provide the opportunity to create interiors with distinct individuality or perfect replication for corporate synergy.
Melamine
White melamine is the standard finish for much of the Pendock preformed plywood range and is applied to the substrate during the forming process. Melamines are suited to areas of low to medium traffic. If damaged or dirty the finish can be over painted.
